Scaped Outdoors Excavation

Using What Mother Earth Gave Them

This job was fun and also totally a challenge. While it was mostly an excavation job, it also required a bit of hardscaping, but not with materials that we normally use. Instead, with ones that were already existing on the property. There were lots of large natural stones that they wanted used for a firepit and seating area.

This property is actually a second home that is used as a camp for the homeowners. They needed quite a lot of excavation work done. In addition, there was lots of clearing and clean up to be done. Kevin and Steve took on this project over the course of two weekends in spite of a lot of rain and cold temps the two made it happen on time for the deadline that we promised.

One of the big tasks was making the driveway area for them. There was not one there and they wanted to have one. We put down a base stone followed by top stone to create this then graded it.  We also cleared away some brush to give them a parking area to the side.

Around the garage area we cleaned up lots of brush and wood. We also tried our best to grade the area around it with the existing soil that was already there. Once we did that, we replanted grass and began making the firepit area using the natural stone.

First we cleared out the brush that was in that area, then put down the base material and got to work on building the firepit area. These were some HEAVY stones. We moved a lot of them with the machines. We also built some natural stone steps that lead to the area.

We loved the challenge and loved the homeowners’ gratitude and excitement even more. They were so happy with it.  It was a cool job to get to do. Thanks for the opportunity!
