Giving back to the community

When we started the business, we set a list of goals we had for ourselves for the coming season. At the top of the list was to complete a charity install for a family in the area who had a loved one battling cancer. Sarah’s brother recently passed away from leukemia. During his battle one of the things he enjoyed most was being home and being able to be outside. As a tribute to all the support and love our family received during his battle, we wanted to somehow return the favor. We thought it would be great to build a firepit  that would allow them to make some new memories with loved ones outside of the walls of the hospital.

We put out the offer on our social media platforms and many local families applied. The family who won the drawing was so kind and grateful for the firepit. The homeowner was currently battling a form of blood cancer. The day of the install was really special and fun. They actually sat outside with us and chatted while we worked.

When we mentioned what we were doing to our supplier Joe Luffy at Earth Elements- he volunteered to cover the cost of their fire pit materials. It was such a kind thing to do to help with the project.

Kevin and I both decided that success in business isn’t just about how many jobs we can take on or how much we can grow. Success is also about giving back to the community we are building the business in. This project was one of our favorites simply because of what it meant.

Blantley family – thanks for having us. Wishing you many great nights around the new pit.
