Legacy Land – Pike Run Country Club

Last season we had the opportunity to service two different clients who have homes at the Pike Run Country club. These homes are in a private area and are often passed down from generation to generation. The properties are incredible. Private and rich in tall trees and history. At this home, the goal was to beautify what was already in existence and repair a few areas so they could continue to be enjoyed for the generations to come.

This task was to move natural existing boulders from the heavily wooded areas and incorporate them into landscape boulder clusters throughout the yard.  They really added a nice appeal to the area.

This is a glimpse of the space before we brought in the boulders, and a few of the natural boulders we pulled from the woods.

The next task we took on here was to repair this existing natural stone walkway. As you can see the materials were a bit of a trip hazard in its current state. The goal was to make it all level again. The homeowner wanted to preserve these materials and use them rather than getting something new.

After removal of the natural stone slabs we cleaned them off and set them aside.  This walkway area was then graded and base prep was done one stone at a time. This task sounds much easier than it actually was. Every slab was a different size and thickness.

We loved that we were able to restore this space and make it safe and beautiful once again. What you are looking at here is the result of some really precise basework to have been able to make that level again.

One of the last tasks we had while working here was to redesign this walkway area. The homeowner loved the flagstone look and wanted to incorporate them, but also realized we would need to bring in more materials to have enough to build out the space. We loved how it turned out. A combo of old and new. In this area, we intentionally tried not to remove the moss off of the rocks because they loved the earthy look. We wanted to try our best to honor that. We then began planning out the area.

This one was like doing a puzzle. It was fun making it all fit together. We were glad to be able to give them another sidewalk that could be used to access the house more safely than the one that was there prior to our time there.

It was an honor to get to work here. Although Donegal is a little outside of where we typically serve- we were glad to make the trip. It was awesome working with you! Thanks for having us here to your beautiful piece of tranquility at Pike Run.
