Although she may no longer be in the classroom, Sarah is still passionate about teaching business every chance she gets.
Before co-founding and growing Scaped Outdoors alongside her husband, Kevin, Sarah spent time in the classroom teaching as a Pennsylvania-certified Business Education teacher. She also studied Educational Leadership at Penn State and served as a Dean of Students at State College School District where she developed extensive experience in leadership, communication, conflict resolution, team development, and organizational management.
Her professional background outside of teaching includes an extensive career in network marketing, serving as Sales Operations Manager for a successful landscape design company, and helping build Scaped Outdoors from a startup into a thriving outdoor living business.
Today, Sarah combines her experience in education, leadership, sales, and business ownership to help entrepreneurs build stronger companies, stronger teams, and more profitable businesses. Her expertise includes sales, marketing, leadership development, business systems, finance, team culture, and operational growth.
Sarah is available for keynote presentations, industry workshops, podcast interviews, short-term business consulting, and private one-on-one coaching. Kevin Griffith is the co-founder of Scaped Outdoors and leads the company's field operations and construction standards.
With an extensive career in the natural gas industry, Kevin built his career from the ground up, starting as a heavy equipment operator and advancing into leadership roles, ultimately serving as a Site Superintendent overseeing crews, large-scale projects, and operations management. His experience spans both residential excavation and major infrastructure work, giving him a deep understanding of production, efficiency, and jobsite execution at every level.
Kevin is known for his elite skill as a heavy equipment operator, with expertise in grading, excavation, drainage, site preparation, and precision earthwork. He has also personally operated and managed equipment on projects ranging from residential outdoor living spaces to large-scale natural gas infrastructure projects.
In addition, Kevin is certified through the Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association (CMHA) and builds strictly to industry-recognized standards, with a strong focus on quality, durability, and proper installation practices.
One of Kevin's strongest skill sets is project estimating and production planning. His ability to accurately evaluate scope, labor, equipment needs, and material costs has been a key factor in the success and profitability of Scaped Outdoors. He helps contractors understand how to estimate confidently, protect margins, and run more efficient jobs.
While Kevin prefers the jobsite over the spotlight, he is available for one-on-one mentorship, field training, and trade-specific coaching for contractors looking to improve their skills in excavation, equipment operation, estimating, site preparation, drainage solutions, hardscape installation, and jobsite leadership.
His focus is simple: helping others master the craft and build a stronger, more profitable career in the trades.
